I just recently purchased a 60" XS and was trying to calibrate it with an AVIA disc. One of the first calibrations done with the disc is to set the "White Level". I however can't seem to find the "white level" on the TV to change it. Am I missing something here? Anyone calibrate their XS yet?
I think in the voiceover on AVIA and also onscreen it explains that "white level" = Contrast. Sony uses the term "Picture" instead of contrast for the white level adjustment.
If you went straight to the adjustment patterns without listening to the tutorial I'd strongly recommend you go back and do so. It explains everything pretty clearly and also has a separate method for adjusting white level on lcd sets which you may not be aware of if you skip the voiceovered tuturial on the disc.
You will then progress to "black level" which is called "brightness" in the sets adjustment menu. Sharpness=Sharpness, Color=Color, Tint=Tint or Hue.
Thanks, I appreciate the help. Yeah, I did skip the voice over, I got a little anxious and put the cart before the horse so to say. I was planning on going back and listening to it when I had some spare time but have been to busy to do so. I'll give it another try this weekend. Thanks again.
