I have just installed a new, actually refurbished, but new to me AVR-3310ci. It seems to be working very well except for a problem with video dropouts. I've noticed a few things that may help to figure out what's going on. Firstly, the dropouts occur most often while fast forwarding. The other times that I've noticed it is while watching a program immediately before it goes to commercial. I'm not sure if there's something in the stream coming over the component video feed but it's interesting to me that it occurs mostly when fast forwarding or right before a commercial.
Here's a little info on my system. Source components are DirecTV HR22 DVRs fed through an Audio Authority Avatrix matrix switch. The connections between the DVRs and the switch is component. From There I have a component connection from the Avatrix wall plate to the AVR-3310ci. Then from the AVR-3310ci I'm running both HDMI and component to the television. It would seem that the drop outs are occurring with the TV taking its input from either component or HDMI. Previously I was running the Avatrix wall plate direct to the television, not through my receiver and had no such dropouts. It seems pretty clear that what's changed is the AVR-3310ci being introduced and it also seems pretty clear that doesn't like something about the component input it's getting. What's not so clear to me is if the problem is somehow something about the signal that is being fed to the AVR-3310ci that it is perhaps pickier about or if there's actually something wrong with the AVR-3310ci.
Anyone had any experiences like this? Any thoughts?
Thanks
Ben
