Hello all...I have been doing alot of reading on this and various subjects and im trying to get a straight anwser for trim levels in the AVR.I own the pioneer vsx-31 elite 80 WPC and I have deftech 8060-st towers with 8060-cs center.I run them flat with no EQ settings besides for distance and they sound great.Like most I have never messed with trim levels only CHANNEL levels.I keep my front left and right at 0 and bump my center to +1.5 to +2.0 for dialog.Well today after doing some reading it was recommended to leave channel levels all at 0 and adjust trim levels for each imput.I did this to my front 3 imputs and increased trim to +4.5 and now movies and music seem to have more definition and clarity where as before they sounded a little harsh at higher volumes.I would really like some imput on this from people who really know about it...

...anyone mess with trims and noticed an improvement?...I was told when you increase your trim levels you are getting a clearer signal because the signal is being amplified more..laymans tearms..lol...like I said I run my deftech 8060-st's flat with no EQ besides distance because MCACC doesn't setup bipolar speakers correctly and it really made an improvement...

...my understanding is TRIM levels are for the imput signal and CHANNEL levels are for the output signal...is that correct?

I don't know what the difference is between trim levels and channel levels.
