I will take this on

sweet case choices

unbelievably sweet

for a powersupply

the seasonic would be the better option

but look at the new S12 series

the S12 430 or 500 will be fine

for CPU

why intel?

Dual Core is nice but the intels will run hotter than the comparable AMDs

I would reconsider if you want your PC to run cool and this would help reduce cooling noise if everything is running cooler

the AMD X2s are dual core

if you do decide to go with AMD

look at the nforce 4, nforce4 Ultra or even a nforce 4 SLI

the ASUS SLI uses passive cooling on the chipset

for harddrives

why a raptor?

is your primary usage with the PC going to be gaming?

no video content requires a harddrive that fast

and it is very small if you are planning to do any video storage or recordings

your sound card

creative is not a good option for an HTPC

it resamples CD music and is better left to gaming machines

if are you planning to do any gaming with a receiver

consider the X mystique sound card

it does dolby digital live encoding

so all your games will be in 5.1

is there a reason you want to use PC speakers rather than home theater speakers?

and have you considered getting an HDTV rather than HD monitor if you are going to be using this from the couch rather than from a desk

and the gyration mouse will be horrible for gaming

it seems you have this is up somewhat for gaming with the raptor at least

anyways I would look at a Logitech bluetooth mouse

and maybe the new microsoft media center keyboard

and why do you need a hotswappable harddrive?

500 GB will be nice for media and videos though

also you do not have a video card listed

a 6600 GT or x800 Pro would be my suggestions unless you want a 7800 GTX

also if you get an AMD setup you cannot use DDR2

finally for your DVD drive or burner

get a black one

unless you like the Beige tray that will pop out of your setup

any ideas about an OS or software?
