I have had my AVR307 a little over 2 years now. I have enjoyed it greatly (even with the pops and clicks). Just 2 days ago it started doing some a little strange. After the unit is placed in standby mode, it will start sending what sounds like pink noise to left front channel. It takes a few minutes before it starts and then the sound is constantly on. It goes away as soon as the unit is powered back up. It is ONLY heard in the left front channel.

Any ideas as to what this may be. I'm going to try and get in touch with my dealer today and see if i can bring it in for service.

Thanks for any ideas you guys may have.

Thanks tubeguy. I know about the audio drop out problems (which I have not experienced) and the popping noise (which I have experienced many times). I am really just wandering about this new noise when the 307 is turned OFF!

I called my dealer and he said to bring it in today and they will send it off to B&K for them to check it out. Still looking for any ideas you guys may have, or for anyone that has had this happen.

Have you tried rebooting the receiver? I've had weird noises crop up from time to time (rarely). Powering the unit down completely has always fixed it for me. I use to have a 307 as well. I have a Ref50 now.

That was going to be my suggestion as well, i.e., a hard "boot" by physically turning off the unit with the power button. My old Ref 20 exhibited the weird "lock up" issue with the remote two times in the 3 years or so I owned. Each time this took care of the situation.

P.S. Sending the 307 in to B&K would be the best long-term solution though in case there is something failing in the unit. Do not pay any heed to the 317 upgrade thread because unless you pay $$ for it to be upgraded to the equivalent of the current 507 then B&K will only fix any issues you may have and apply the latest 307 firmware (if your unit does not have it).
