I'm not sure if this has been shown before, but Baadasssss! will be on Showtime Saturday night. This one was originally "How to Get the Man's Foot Outta Your Ass" and info can be seen here and technical specs here . This shows it as shot on video with "Sony HDW-F900 Camera, Panavision Digital Primo Zoom Lenses" in 1.78:1 and so I imagine it should look very good. It has a 7.6/10 on imdb.com and Roger Ebert had it in last year's top ten. I hadn't even heard of it until I saw it on the schedule, but it looks like a good one to check out.

I watched it when it came on a few months ago. It is a pretty good movie, not great like I'd thought it would be, but damn good.

For the uninitiated, this movie is a remake by Mario Van Peebles. His dad Melvin wrote, shot and directed -Sweet Sweetback's Bada** Song- approx 35 years ago. In comparison, Mario looks uncannily like Melvin did when he originally did Sweetback. Uncanny.

Not a remake. More like a recreated "making-of" feature.
