Not sure if this topic has been discussed before, but is there a way to back up HD content recorded on D-VHS tape to a hard drive? I noticed the JVC 30K has a Firewire slot, so I assume it's possible? If so, is there special software or hardware that I need (i.e. special capture card, etc)?

Actually, more to the point, has anyone converted D-VHS into a WM9 encoded file? Because D-VHS is encoded in MPEG-2, I wonder what the issues would be in terms of maintaining resolution and picture quality during the step of converting it first into AVI.
