Right now I have my equipment in the corner of my theater space (bonus room). Thinking about moving it to the air handler space and hope that someone here might know if this is ok or a bad idea? Only issue is I need to run an outlet into the space but that's not a big problem.

The space is a nice cool temperature but I'm wondering if I would cause moisture problems doing this or impact the AC's performance? You can see it next to the bathroom on the right. The "X" section doesn't exist in there so that whole space is empty. I could even think about walling it off to make it separate with a nice door if this would cause issues with the AC system.

I've seen a lot of equipment racks in basement mechanical rooms sharing space with HVAC and water heaters without issue unless the water heater springs a leak and starts shooting all over the place. If you can you put a partition in the space I think there should not be any issues. It wouldn't have to be a framed wall, just separate the spaces. Were you thinking of having the equipment open to the hallway? to the left of that thermostat?

Yes, I would need to create a door for the space. My only concern is the smaller confined space compared to a large basement. Was thinking that I would install a wall in between and have the AV “door” be kind of floating so I could use the 1U ac infinity fans that would blow forward out to the hall area. A negative affect would be to heat up this space impacting the temperature that the wall ac control senses...

This is me talking but I would assume the smaller master closet is yours and the larger was the wife’s. So if it was me I would put the rack in that wall which would be to the left of the theater doors. Now you have access to the back of the rack too. Still use a sealed rack with removable back and side. Use fans to bring cool air in the bottom of the front and top to exhaust the air out the front top.

Just an idea.
