Baffled by Panny Aspect Ration Control
Help my feeble brain figure this out. I have hooked up a new Panny 428UK to my Directv HD DVR and I can not get my aspect ratio to change from the"Full" setting which it seems stuck on. I've seen this issue referred to before but I can not figure out the solution. Any help would be sorely appreciated.

The basic answer is if you're sending the TV a 720p or 1080i signal the TV's Aspect modes will not work. This is normal Panasonic operation.
Aspect control will only work if you're feeding it a 480i or 480p signal.
Check to see what format your TV is displaying and i think you'll find it's getting one of the HD formats.
