I bought some bananna plugs that have a small screw through the base of the plugs. Do you loosen the screw, feed the copper speaker wire in, and then tighten the screw over the copperwire? There is a rubber cover then that goes over the base of the plug. I'd appreciate any advise from anyone who has used these type of plugs with respect to procedure and how the quality of the sound is. Thanks.

Banana plugs grew up out of the instrumentation industry. All high-end amplifiers use banana plugs. All the King's horses and all the King's men, and even all of the King's dogs (with their superior hearing) would never be able to identify the sound of a banana plug.
