Do the very basic(~$10) rabbit ears + loop (vhf/uhf) type of antennas have a band seperator in them ? Or are the two elements just hotwired in parallel ? The reason I am asking because I see that Terk sepcifically mentions that it has a band seperator in its specs, but I dont see any other manufacturer mention that.
Also, I was curious what exactly are those "tuning knobs" on some antennas, like this one -

What do they really do ? How do they work behind the scene ? Is there some kind of impedance matching/tuning going on ?
