I inherited this unit and love it. It was made around 1980. The problem is it overheats in about 10 minutes. Any idea how I could fix it or send it somewhere to be fixed? Or should I just trash it.

It shouldn't be too hard to fix and most service manuals are available online.

I would not where to start to fix it. Service manual or not. I work with computers but I don't know anything about electronics. I would love to pay someone in Georgia, USA to fix it for me.

If you had the skillset to fix it yourself, you wouldn't be asking such basic questions here. Any tech you choose will not be limited by not having a service manual already in their filing cabinet. So get googling and find someone. Note there is probably a B&O specialist somewhere in the US so you may need to ship.
Service manual here.
