Danish audio brand Bang & Olufsen just introduced Beosound Theatre: an innovative and beautifully constructed high-end Dolby Atmos soundbar that offers the power of a multi-product home cinema, all in one device.

Beosound Theatre comes with 12 speaker drivers, including two custom-made long stroke 6.5" woofers, and 800 watts of amplification power, capable of producing up to 112dB of sound pressure level. The tweeter is situated in front of the midrange to manage vocal clarity on the center channel. This alignment of drivers offer greater sound dispersion, enhancing the quality audio experience for everyone in the room.

Due to the mix of direct, side, and up-firing speakers, Beosound Theatre delivers a new three-dimensional sound directivity that not only produces sound but ensures that all loudspeaker drivers coordinate with each other.

Users can effortlessly convert the soundbar into a full wall-mounted or floor-standing Bang & Olufsen TV experience, without taking up any more room than their existing TV. The interface bracket is motorized and connects the stand to the TV screen seamlessly. The mount has a section to fit smart TV boxes and hide extra wires from view, cleverly masking clutter to display the TV as one integrated design.

Although Beosound Theatre is a one-product solution, it can expand into a dedicated sound center, opening up additional possibilities for building your home theater. It has seven built-in outputs and can handle up to 16 external loudspeakers, making it the core of a full-fledged Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 surround arrangement. Beosound Theatre serves as a center speaker in this configuration, combining Dolby Atmos decoding and custom-tuned post-processing with Bang & Olufsen's patented True Image algorithm to optimize the capabilities of all Bang & Olufsen loudspeakers.

Beosound Theatre also has a new bass control system. Whereas other systems direct the bass to the loudspeaker with the strongest power - generally the subwoofer - Beosound Theatre employs all Bang & Olufsen loudspeakers in the system to function as a single unit. By doing this, it should help manage the resonance in your listening space, ensuring that the numerous loudspeakers work together rather than against each other.

Beosound Theatre's keel-like shape, inspired by sailboats, gives the impression that it is floating in the air, resting on an aluminum blade. The lamellas clip into place rather than being glued, making them easy to dismantle or replace, while the fabric version is meant to be a softer alternative that can blend into any interior style.

Bang & Olufsen's innovative Roomsense setup technology is included with the Beosound Theatre. This speaker will work with the Bang & Olufsen App to measure the distance between the listener and the soundbar by placing an external microphone in the listening location. It will also assign a role to each speaker depending on its placement, perform sound correction for each speaker whether it is free-standing, against a wall, or in a corner, and do overall room compensation to eliminate unwanted resonance.

Not only does the Beosound Theatre soundbar honor Bang & Olufsen's products with its timeless design, but it also comes with Bang & Olufsen's own proprietary software platform called "Mozart," which continues the heritage of ensuring that the soundbar can connect seamlessly with products dating back to 1986, resulting in a cross-generational home audio setup.

Because this platform is packed with processing power and memory, Bang & Olufsen can integrate new features, capabilities, and connectivity to offer an equally smooth experience with current and future home audio settings.

The Beosound Theatre is available in a premium wood or fabric finish and starts from $6,890. If you are attending the CEDIA Expo, you can preview the Beosound Theatre at the Bang & Olufsen Booth (Booth 16099).
