Will this display CRT hours or only runtime hours? I am looking at a 1208S/2 right now and want to know how many hours the CRTs have. I need to explain the process to the individual that has the PJ.

Thanks,

John

It is total run time or "chassis hours". Tubes likely have less hours.

Menu tree to get to this info is: Adjustment -> Service Mode -> Run Time

To guess the hours on the tubes, take the lenses off. The blue wears first, then the green then the red. Usually blue wear shows up after about 3-4k hrs of use. It will apear as a retangular ghost in the CRT's surface. Burn is when a logo or barchart is actually visible in the CRT's surface. It was actually burned into the phospor surface. As the blue becomes worn, the color balance is usually more difficult to achieve. hope this helps...Steve.

Not on the 1208's and 808's Steve. the green wears first, then the blue. green can show wear at as low as 2500 hours in these sets with my experience.
