This is a new update to an arcing problem, I have noticed the blue gun arcs inside the clear part of the neck does anyone know a solution to this annoying problem as every time it arcs the picture shuts down. Please help if you can, thanks Wilbur.

I think some tiny bits have found their way into the kneck of the tube and that the beam of electrons, (instead of being drawn down to the phosphor) are short curcuiting to the sides of the tubes where you are seeing the arc.

To my knowlegse there is no true cure to this other than to zap it and hope the partical is vaporised.

I would try a day of the flashing white screen that can be found under the service menu "CRT run in cycle". This needs an inernal pattern file to have been previously setup in the projector.

If the arcing gets worse, rather than better your tube could be on the way out.

Thanks for the reply Roland I will try that for a day and see what happens although the tubes have only done 1400 hours I would be very surprised if they were on there way out already.

Cheers Steve.
