Generally speaking, a suffix after the basic part number indicates a newer revision of the board, and should swap out no problem. Sometimes there are minor problems by putting an older board like a 762268 into a newer set using a 7622686, like bad V linearity, but you shouldn't blow anything up.
Also, I can repair the original board if that turns out to be the problem.
