Wow, what a projector. Starting at just under $20,000. I wish.

It'll probably stay there for that price too!
I don't know they are rare beasts. Well above what I would pay in any case, but I have seen silly prices for lesser projectors. However, while I don't think it is a scam the seller gives you precious little detail about the actual projector in question. 98% of the information given is straight from the Barco web site including all photos as far as I can tell. No mention of hours, condition, of tubes, etc.... I certainly would want to know all that more before spending a dime.
You want a url for ebay? There is only one Cine 9 on Ebay!

Brian
It's 5755200187 (the item number, not the price).
The heading on ebay says Cinemax, which was the first name on the Cine 9 before it was fully developed and color-filtering added. So I would be skeptic to that ad. They uses Cinemax in the heading and in the ad they use a blue-print of the latest Cine 9-brochure.

Per Johnny
if this the real deal the price is fair

the cine max /cine 9/909/runco dtv 1200

is the best .it is a stand out among stand outs

buying one for 20,000$$ or under is like

finding a rolex 18KT GOLD DAYTONA

FOR 7,000 $$$

Too funny. Two in one week and they both appear to be legit (they both allow pickup for a start). Of course the scammers will likely pick these up and start flooding us with scam Cine9s. Barco searches on Ebay have been blessedly short of scams when compared to what the Sony folks have to put up with.
This guy that is selling this does the old thing of not showing who the bidders are and on day one of his auctions already has had 20 or so bids.

On a 1270 for example he will normally get around $3-4kAUD.
Also the guy in Australia advertises Barco data, and Graphics models as the Cine models.

This will probably be one of the 909's that sold at auction in the US recently.

Anyone keen to call him and ask about it?
i have seen both

and the g90 is no dog not even compared to the cine 9

but to my eyes the barco is better

i own three sony 1292 projectors

and the g90 is better than the 1292 but not enough

for me to pay the difference in cost

and besides there are some things about the 1292 picture i like more

than the g90 picture

this is not the case with the cine 9 if i owned a g90

after seeing a cine 9 i would sell the sony and buy the barco

even with the price difference

in germany someone tries to sell a sony vph1030 for 3000,- euro's :) quite the price to :)
This is the first time I have ever even seen a picture of one. It looks just like a Barco 808 that was painted black! Are they supposed to be black? I would have figured it would be a big ugly wide body like the 1209.

Does anyone know if it uses the same chassis? Obviously the electronics is way different but I am just wondering if they used the same metal 808 enclosure. Because it they did, if would follow that you could easily put 9" LC tubes in a BD or BG808.

I can only imagine how one of these performs, but based on Xanto's comments it sounds pretty dam good. I'm very glad Barco is still developing and selling crt.

Yeah I have noticed his practices such as using Cine for "regular" Barco Graphics and Data models. I can assure though that this is NOT one of the 909s from U.S. Government as I know the buyer for those and he his located in the States and hasn't yet got them or decided what to do with them.
