Hi all

I have a barco 701 with relatively good tubes and in condition which will not turn on. The problem is that im in Australia and the power here is 240V. For some reason the barco was set to 110V and when i received it all the fuses in the bottom board next to the power plug were blown.

I have replaced the fuses and obviously changed the power to 240V. now the unit will turn on and appears to be going however the tubes dont fire and nothing is shown from the projector.

At the front of the 701 there are a series on LED lights which turn on with the power button. On this particular unit the 'COINC' yellow light remains on. I am unsure of what this means

I am trying to figure out which board/boards have been damaged so they can be replaced. luckily i have an identical second 701 available to me which does work. I am about to start swapping boards from the working 701 to the toasted one to figure out the part needed.

I was wondering someone could give me some advice on which boards/ parts i should start with.

any advice is much appreciate

regards

The problem is in the power supply itself, the board that the power cord plugs into.

If you can't find anyone locally to repair it, I can do that for you. I happen to have a 701 chassis here that I can test it in.

One more question. going through the manual the 701 needs an RGB-S cable. What is that? i know it consists of 4 BNC connectors and i have an RGBHV cable but how is it different.

thanks

USe a BNC 'T' connector to combine the H and V sync, and plug that into the S connector.
