Barcodata 708 and NeuNeo HVD2085

This question is from a non technical person.

I have a Barcodata 708 crt projector and a NeuNeo HVD2085 dvd player which is able to upscale normal dvd's to 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

Anybody got an idea if, and how, I can watch it on the Barcodata 708?

It seems the Barcodata automatically recognizes what kind of dvd I am playing (NTSC or Pal) and adjusts itself to it. But when I play 720p, 1080i or 1080p, the Barcodata just gives a black picture. Am I unable to play this material, or should I do something with the Barcodata to watch it?

Thanks for your answers in advance.

How are you connecting the DVD to your Barco and what cables are you using?
More data is needed. How are you connecting the player to the 708? I am not familiar with the output options of the DVD player but hi-def would generally only be output via component or RGB out (as well as DVI/HDMI).
You need to connect the Neo via the component video out puts to the 708's like inputs ,then chose the proper input selection on your remote for component video. I think it's number 5 on your remote.
Well, seems I had it connected through composite and not through component plugs. That helped me solve some problems. Now I can see through 720p, 1080i (indeed with button 5, but also 4 and 3). But watching 1080p seems fairly impossible. The image looks like it has macrovision, (lines, darker picture etc) but when I play a non macrovision dvd (like a home movie) it keeps on doing that (so I think I can rule out macrovision). Any idea what it can be, and how it can be solved?

Nor will you...

An analog display (like your CRT projector) is limited in its display resolution two ways... the elctronics may not be able to lock in on a given signal, and if the elctronics CAN lock to a signal the resolution may be limited by the physical display itself. In the case of a CRT, the electron beam spot size and the physical size of the tube face will limit the "resolving ability" or number of actual lines of video.

1080p requires a VERY well tuned 9" projector, whereas your 708 has only 5.5" tubes.
