My PJ in my current home theater is a Sony 1271Q with less than 300 hours on it. I recently purchased (for $250) a Barco Data 800 with 10300 hours on it.

I am just looking for some feedback the BD800 has a lower resolution than the BD800 but the BD800 seems to be able to deliver a sharper picture at 200 lumens brighter than the Sony.

Not considering hours on the tubes, what would you do and why?

They have the same crt's, so lightoutput capabilities are the same. A low hour 1271 makes a tremendous hometheater, so it are no reasons to swap to a high-hour BD800.

The units are in the same ballpark in terms of performance.

At 300 hours, the tubes on the Sony should be brand new.

At 10K hours, the Barco tubes should be needing retubing.

Keep the Sony.

Though do look into the tubes and assess their conditions yourself. Hours don't always mean anything.
