Pardon me for very naive question... I've Denon 5900 . If I use DVI output, do i bypass Denon's video DAC's and use my display's (Pioneer Elite 730HD) instead? If thats true why would I want to bypass Denon's superior DAC's. What's the benefit of using DVI/ HDMI out?

If I buy iSCAN HD and use SDI upgrades on both my DVD player and Iscan....will I again bypass my video DACS in DENON and if I am using CRT display will it give me any advantage doing this and how? Thanks for your input in advance...

Yes, the internal DAC will be bypassed if you use HDMI/DVI because it is a digital connection. Same is true for SDI mod.

Even if you use analog video out of your Denon, most TVs will internally convert analog inputs to digital for processing then, if your TV is not pure digital TV, convert back to analog again using its internal DAC.
