I bought a pair of the regular Aura Bass Shakers and a pair of the "Pro" model in eBay auctions. I have a spare stereo amp.

Question: do I need a "preamp" or just a speaker level volume control to control the level? I want to control each pair independently since the Pro's will be in a big couch and the regular Shakers will be mounted in two chairs.

Also, does anyone know how the RBH FX-80 differs from either of the Aura models?

I should also mention, my plan is to connect these to the LFE out of my surround processor. Since I will also be driving a powered sub, I can't use the LFE level to control the Bass Shakers independently of the sub. I could adjust the sub level to compensate if I were willing to accept one setting, but I'm thinking I will want to dial them up or down a little depending on the source.

A partial answer to my own question. I have been told (by a dealer who got it from someone at RBH) that the RBH FX-80 is OEM'd from the same place Aura get's their Bass Shakers, but they are not necessarily identical. The FX-80, although it looks like the regular Bass Shaker is said to be more equivalent to the Pro (I THINK). The FX-80 is rated for a higher power rating than even the PRO, although I don't have all the specs for both models at hand.

Anyone with more or better information, please post it.
