Hi,

I have a Yamaha RX-V2400 7.1 Receiver with the Yamaha YST-SW205 subwoofer connected to it. I am planning on ordering 8 AURA Pro Bass Shakers and a 250W Subwoofer Amp from Parts Express to drive them.

My question is can i use a Y-Adapter on my Sub Out from my Yamaha Receiver and goto the Subwoofer and the Amp for the Bass Shakers and not have any issues?

Or do I need a separate receiver for this setup?

And instead of starting another bass shaker thread, can someone tell me if this would work as an amp. I know it's for a car, but it should still work right? I have an old reciever (well, not old, just not in use) that I can use, but I rather not have a big giant receiver by my couch. Something like thise I can just stick under a table, or bolt it to a wall near the couch.

D'oh, I thought about that a few mins before you posted your reply. I was looking at some of the car amps trying to figure out which ones would work, then it dawned on me "Hmmm, I'll have to power this somehow." I was thinking I could just use a transformer with a 12v secondary, but you're right, that wouldn't be anywhere near enough to drive it I'm sure. I could run jumper cables out to my garage. I mean, the only time I watch movies is when I'm home right? "Hold on, before we start the movie I have to go start my car...wait I need gas first" hmmm maybe not. Just looking for away around having a receiver next to the couch, and was hoping not to have to wait a a few more days to get an amp from partsexpress. There's GOT to be someone in my area that sells plate amps for subwoofers. So far BB, CC and Radio Shack all don't have them. I guess, at least for now, the old receiver will have to work.
