if i buy a bag of insulation..
and keep the bag un-opened,
and just stack it in the corner, one atop the other..
is this effective bass trapping?
thanks

Just to back up Jeff's comment, I tried this as an absorption wall and it was a fail. It turns out the insulation was too tightly packed (too dense) and measurement results showed it acting as a solid wall. My situation involved rockwool but any insulation that is too tightly packed is likely to have a similar result.

thank u for the replies..

what if instead of a bag of oc thermafiber r-15 which is 26.7 square feet..

what if instead i went with a 5.3 square foot bag of guardian r-6.7 unfaced fiberglass
(and stacked them 1 by 1 atop each other)

this littler bag would be less dense and wall like no?

also, my vocal booth dimensions are: l=6.5' w=4.5' h=6.5'

thank you

What are the resonant frequencies in that size room? I'm thinking classic acoustic absorbers may be more usefull
i have moving blankets as the floor, ceiling, and walls..
there's slight echo in here, but not much,
i also put some cushions in here to absorb echos..

but when i speak in here.. it sounds too deep/boomy/bassy...
so.. i'm looking to get rid of those lower frequencies that may be building up in here..
which is why i want to get some bass traps in here
