My BenQ W5000 has suffered the same failure as most other owners...vertical lines on half the screen. It kills me to scrap this machine, as I paid over $3k for it, and only ran it for 1200 or so hours...obviously still have it on the original lamp. The cost of repair seems to vary with who you ask, but I also found a possible remedy at Projector Junkies who suggests it's a result of three inexpensive components (link below).

Anyway, I don't have the money these days to take chances with repair technicians. I'm hoping there's someone out there that has dealt with this issue and sees the value in buying "as is" to repair to keep or resell. Considering the condition it's in otherwise, I'd like to get $500 for it.
