Berkline Outlet March Sale - NE1 from OH going?

4741 Views 50 Replies 19 Participants Last post by  Nabs17
So the next sale for the Berkline Outlet is in March, and apparently the powered leather 090's will be $399, with that in mind in order to make it worth going down there I was wondering if anyone from NE Ohio plans to be going there and would not mind another person going with you?

Please let me know, so I can think about actually going there and buying a few of these seats - we could then split costs.

Thanks, Brett

I believe it's in Morristown, TN (about an hour from Knoxville).
So no-one from Ohio is going?

Ah well, worth a try.
Gee! Too bad as I just bought mine yesterday. Does anyone know the actual footprint of the 90's. The info I got says they are 39" deep and 40" ide(47 configeration)I assume that 39" depth includes the back. I have a space consideration and wonder if any 90's owners out there knew the actual footprint of this model!
I may be willing to tag along just to look if nothing else. Any particular date? March weekends are getting quite full for me.
Thanks Chinadog! Looks like its around 36" deep, as 39" is overall depth with back. I didnt realize how much bigger the 90"s are to the 88's. Three across is 20" wider.. and tha armrest are nearly 8 " wide! Thanks again! Fishman
Brett - when is the sale? I might be tempted to go at those prices, if it falls on the right weekend.

Anyone know the odds of landing powered 090s? I'd hate to make the trip & come up empty.
It's a long-shot, but you could give the Local forum a try.

You never know what they will have at the outlet - which really makes it fun IMO. My HT sports 4 power recline and 4 regular. I purchased them in 2 different sales at the outlet. Go to www.berkline.com and find the phone # of the outlet. Give them a call to see a) when the sale is and b) what they have in the sale.

Good luck!
I phoned them last week and apparently the sale starts Tuesday the 22nd of March.

The guy I spoke to suggested they will have a LOT of seats (I would be after powered 90's as well), but I don't think waiting until the weekend would be too cool :( So a couple of days off of work would be in order.

Brett - you have a PM.

Does anyone know what payment options Berkline accepts at their factory sales? Cash? Check? Credit Card?
They accept Credit Cards as well as cash and (I assume) check. When I was at the last sale in November, people were lined up 30 minutes before it opened on the first day. You want to go there the first day. At least 30 minutes before it opens. Otherwise, all the seats will be gone. Just a "heads up" from an experienced bargain hunter...
Guys, keep me posted if you are able to coordinate an Ohio group, and how many people you can get. Just curious.
Pam is correct. Get there on the 1st day of the sale - early morning to get the selection that you want. I was able to furnish my room with 7 powered recliners for ~2300 bucks after tax. (Recliners were $299 last July). As amazing as that seems - a friend of mine got 4 seats that matched his decor with power recline and factory installed buttkickers - SAME PRICE - $299 a seat.

If you have trouble finding the contact info do a search in this forum for 'berkline gods'. That should bring up at least 2 threads that contain info about the outlet and the sales.

The only down side is that it is a gamble that they will have the styles/colors/configurations that you need. But they won't be able to tell you exactly what they have, so you just have to show up and find out.

Good Luck.

Wow!!!

That is some great pricing!

I thought I was getting a good deal at $550 per chair with electric recline and group one, two or three fabric.

I would be concerned with not getting the seating configuration I want by going this route. I am getting a row of four in the front and three in the back. The front row will have a love seat in the middle and a recliner on each side angled toward the screen. My back row will have the out-side recliners angled toward the screen.

You know the irony is, they are still making a profit at $299 per chair. Can you say profit. ;)

I did call the outlet store and spoke to a very helpful guy. The sale is (indeed) March 22 but they won't know exactly what they will have until the 21st and oh by the way...they will be closed that day getting ready for the sale on the 22nd. I did confirm that powered 090's will be $399 per and he felt strongly there would be some there. He said they always have 090's.

The only thing that turned me off is that all the chairs are "irregulars". I asked what that meant and he explain it could mean any number of things like:

rip in the fabric or leather

stains

color inconsistencies.

So even though the prices are good, I'm not sure I'm gonna drive all the way up there (from Florida) with the possibility I may not get what I want.

I'm sure there are great deals to be had and the "irregularities" may not be bad at all but to drive 12 hours without knowing...I don't think I'll do.

I hope this thread is still active after the sale and whoever goes reports what they found.

Thanks,

Nabs,

When I was there last July I would estimate that they had maybe 75-100 chairs (that's only a rough estimate - might have been as few as 50). But of the chairs that I looked at only maybe 5 or so has evidence of damage or color matching problems. I inspected the 7 that I bought THOROUGHLY before laying down the cash, and there was NOTHING that I could find that was wrong with them. If there is something 'irregular' about them, it's certainly not something very significant.

David,

When you say 50+ chairs, was that 50+ chairs of theater seating, or theater seating AND regular couches and sectionals as well.

Craig :) :) :)
