berkline theater seatng with lumbar support?

1489 Views 16 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  pocoloco
Which group of Berkline Home Theater seating have the best lumbar support? I have a bad back, and get pain fast if there is no lumbar support.

I looked at Group 086, picture looks ok, but not sure of lumbar support.

I really want to sit and test, but have not seen this in any store. I'm in the Philadelphia, PA - Burbs.

In greatchandelier , I priced 086, 4 seats ( love seat in the middle, and two two chairs on either side -around $ 1596 +$179 shipping. is this a good price?

Give me some feedback, thanks.

mtom01,

Best lumbar support is a very subjective factor. Considering your bad back you should not purchase your seating based on someone's advise. You have to try to find different style groups and seat in as many of them as you can. You are the only person who may decide which style group is the best fit for you.

I have the 090s in my demo room and you are welcome to come and try them if you wish, I am in Central NJ, if you willing to travel.

Regarding the price - the forum rules do not allow discuss prices unless these are retail prices, and I know these prices are not retail ones. PM me if you want to talk prices...

Kyle,

While getting a degree in graphic arts, I guess you did not pay much attention to geography, did you?

:D :D :D
Roman,

Do you have any seats w/adj headrests on display?

Mark
Mark,

I only have the 090s in my demo room. The adjustable headrest are only offered on the Berkline 075 chairs.

Don't worry, I put my Dunce hat on for that one. That's what I get for posting late at night! So, to quote the great Homer Simpson, "Doh!"

In regards to lower lumbar support, it seems to me like the 075's offer the best, but that's my own personal opinion. I was cursed with a crooked spine, and I find that the lower bulge of the back cushion is quite accomodating.

I'm very close to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have called some stores, but none of them display, but they do order, which I'm not too keen on doing so, unless I sit on it, and figure out if my spine can handle it.
I have a bad back, and found none of the Berklines to my liking. I wound up going with Flexsteel recliners. The Triton line had lumbar supports I found to be very comfortable.
If you can't find theater seating with the proper support you can ad support to any chair by using this http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...latelumbar.php . They cost $50.00 each, I have installed one in my car seat and it works perfect. Does anyone know how to expand the leg holder on a theater reclining chair (Berkline) I'm 5'9 and need to add a few inches to the leg holder. Thanks for your reply.

I checked this site, seems that I will get one of this lumbar pump, for my car. My current equipment behind my back is my wallet, but does not really work, for short trip it's ok.

Thanks for the tip.

If you can PM me your store address and phone number, I can take a swing to your store, thanks.
We have 090's in our theater and my wife complains that her back hurts after watching a long movie.
While berklines are relatively comfy, they are not the way to go if you have back problems. My neck gets sore after viewings. I would probably go with the Ekornes stressless recliners. They are pricey but are hands down the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat on. And they are the only recliners endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association.
