Best 1080p upconverter for the money.

I recently purchased a Samsung LN-T4661F LCD TV and I am looking to purchase an upconverter to play my regular DVDs. I noticed that many manufacturers are making players capable of upconverting to 1080p now. Thought seriously about the Samsung HD960 or Samsung HD1080p7,

( considering sticking with same brand as tv ) but I will also consider other brands. I just want the best quality player for the money, around $100.00 - $125.00. That way, whenever the format war is over, I can still afford to buy a High Def player. Any suggestions?

The Toshiba HD A3 is comparable to those up scalers and you'll be getting an HD DVD player also. Toshiba just announced a price reductions for their players, so you should be able to pick one up for you price range.

Then buy some HD DVD's and enjoy.
I have the same TV as you and my Phillips 5982 made my SD DVD's look great on it

It also has a USB drive so you can play videos on a hard drive or flash drive

Add to that, it's very affordable (only about $60)

The only downside is the cheap remote but it's not an issue because I use a Harmony universal remote anyway

I've since moved it to my bedroom and replaced with an A2 though because it obviously does a better job of upconverting
