A friend of mine is looking for a surround sound system for $200. I understand this limits what we can look for but I was wondering if anybody has been shopping for anything at this price range.


Doesn't have to be anything to fancy, its a dorm room so you can't blast music or really have that much bass. Its a 15 x 12 room with a lot of bare surfaces so its much less then ideal.


Reciever should have dolby digital and other then that it doesn't really matter to much. Pro logic II would be nice, but not nessesary.


Your suggestions are most welcome.

for that amount of money i would probably get a nice set of creative labs 5.1 speakers and hook it up to a computer
