Best 32' LCD to buy under $1000

I need help I need to know what the best 32' lcd under 1000 is. I had a new 32' westinghouse for about a week and I can't quit seem to get the picture to look as good as I know it should be. So if anyone could chime in and suggest some better lcd's that would be great.

Ha, how ironic. I'm in the exact same boat as you. Currently, I am looking at Toshiba 32" LCD HDTV (32HL67). I've checked it out at BB and CC and the picture quality seems pretty good. I was able to change the channel at BB (oops, hehe) and HD looks damn impressive on it. SD could use a little tweaking, but others have said it can look pretty nice after proper calibration. Theres a thread here that's dedicated to the REGZA line here on avsforum.

I ended up with the 32HL67...for under $800 with the mount included. I was looking at the Sharp, Sony, Olevia, Vizio, Sylvania and Westinghouse.

The Sharp and Sony were nice, but not for $600 more. I actually thought SD was better on the Toshiba. I really like HD on the Sony, however. But once again, this was a TV for my bedroom and the HD on the Toshiba was pretty close side by side...the edge going to the Sony, though.

Westinghouse...i have a "W" monitor and am not impressed with it, so that set me "off" to that. LG, I never had good luck with their products... (QC) that is.

All the others (though a $150) less, I could not justify buying them for that amount of difference.

The 32HL67 has alot of tweeking options, good black levels and very good "artifact" blocking. For the $$ I thought this TV was the best fit. I'm sure there are other good options but for the price i paid i'm happy having the Toshiba name and QC...
