i only have 5.1 speaker setup, with no plan to upgrade. i am willing to spend up to $1800. What is the best way to go?

does it pay to spend extar money on a reciever which has the extra amps inside just to get an increase of 10 watts or so on the five channels i'll be using? the best i have found so far is the integra 6.2, denon 3802, and kenwood vr-5700. what do you think? or should i go with seperates and just buy a 5 channel amp, without spending extar on the other 2 amps?

Well, the Onkyo 898 is 2 steps up from the Integra 6.2 from the same company and has LOTS more features. The extra 2 amps can just be ignored or used for outdoor speakers or something. $1500 MSRP

The Onkyo/Integra and Denon are better than the Kenwood IMHO.

Separates tend to be more expensive than $1800.
