Hey guys, this is my second post (other was in the LCD section) so I apologize if it's in the wrong section. I'm looking to buy a new TV soon and was wondering what the best bet was for around $1,000 in the 50-55" range. I do not care about 3D at all, and don't really care for apps either, so those features aren't very enticing. I really just want the best picture quality in that budget and preferably a thin bezel, but obviously the quality is more important. Thanks!

Thanks. After looking around about plasmas in general, it seems that one of the cons is that they aren't ideal for bright rooms. Is this still an issue? The reason I ask is because the TV is going in a fairly bright room, with the back of the TV touching a wall in between two large windows.

In a bright room, you're better off going with an LED. Take a look at the new Vizio 2014 sets. They're full array led with local dimming, which is an improvement over last years model.

for 1k or under given bright room situation your best bet is still a plasma not led witch is light. emitting. diode is just front mounted lcd while regular lcd are backlight cfl based. still crappy inferior motion lag reflective as plasma and more expensive compared to plasma at same crateria .

at costco has a 60 inch plasma samsung for sub $8xx its amazing picture quality. take it home play with the settings see if you can have controled room enveriment .

if at your home to you the tv does not look good then return it .

I can't find either.

Then either get the H5000 for the $1399 or wait until August for the H7000. The 51 inch one should be less than $1400. I know the wait is painful, but unless you go with an open box Panny, there aren't too many choices. If only LG was serious about its plasma game.

Is there a smaller version of the H5000? 64" is way too big for where it's going.

The F5300 will be continued to be sold...but it lacks anti glare filter that the H5000 will have.
