In my younger days, I generally shunned buying a warranty plan on anything. Now being older, I am considering buying a tv for the bedroom. Is it worth buying a 5year service plan 130.00 and 2 yr is 70 on a 4k tv like on vizio/tcl or hisense. Thoughts? I will not be changing out tvs like shoes et.

Thank you.

One of the nicer Sammys though, you would probably be ok with the xtra year your credit card affords u.

I think it's worth it for 5 year if you plan on keeping it. They pro rate it back to you if you buy a new TV.

Keep in mind reviews speak to a television's performance, not it's longevity.

Very true, dating myself, before i got my first vizio plasma I gave away my 23-year-old Mitsubishi 27" that never had a problem. Mt Sammy plasma is still doing we after9 yrs +and no issues. I just have big concerns with today's tv's not only with QC issues but manufactures have way too much tech in tv's.

whatever tv I get for my bedroom, whether it be vizio m-558, tcl 6 series, hisense h9f, I just hope it will last at least 13 yrs. This is why I am keeping my budget low on these type of tv's.

Out of the 3 tv's I brought from BB, I purchased either a 4 or 5 warranty. First 2 tv's I got full refunds when they stop working. I still have 1.5 years to go on a 5 year warranty on the third TV.

The only tv I did not buy a warranty for was a 50" Panny Plasma. This was from Sears & their warranty prices were way more than what BB sold them for. The 50" Panny lasted less than 3 years.

Agreed. I had a friend who has a 63" Samsung 8000 series plasma. He bought the 5 year warranty from BB. Granted it wasn't cheap but then he had two boards go out on it - WITH 3 MONTHS LEFT ON THE WARRANTY. Best Buy sent him a check, however it was for the PURCHASE price of the TV. He found a company that rebuilds the boards and had them done for $600 with repair and shipping and banked the rest.

BB warranty definitely worth the cost - to him - in this case...
