For some reason, BB has removed/deleted 'Casino' HD DVD from it's inventory.

I asked a clerk to do a computer search (which I watched) and there wasn't a copy anywhere in Chicago.

I believe the company product info page showed a status of 'deleted'.

They deleted it because it will be replaced with the upcoming Blu-Ray version.

I have no faith in BB when it comes to looking up movies in the store. When I picked up my first batch of Blu-rays, they couldn't even find Goodfellas in the system. If I ever buy a title from them again, I'll order online and just pickup in the store.

My BB never stocked Casino and lemme tell ya, it won't be the first older movie you'll notice missing from their shelves....a guy I've known for years that works there says they are simply not gonna be carrying MANY of the catalog titles for a long time to come on either format - only new day/date stuff and a few exceptions - he told me this when I took a peek there this past tues just for the heck of it to see if the Road Warrior was there for either BD or HD...its not for either, and won't be...not sure what their reasoning is, but don't really care anymore, EF 'em. =/

BTW, quick story...I suppose that Toshiba incentive plan for employee's is really working, he bought an XA2 and said he's completely blown away with the PQ (he formally had the A1, sold it and eventually bought a PS3 and became as anti HD as the rest of 'em), and actually enjoys what he does there again now and pushes HD-DVD once again! He's gone full circle - very cool. =D

Never saw it at the Best Buys around me. They did have Jet Li's "Fearless" for $40 though.

I ended up getting Casino at Frys.

Who knows, better yet does anyone really care, ie; there are many titles listed on their web page that very clearly state not carried in stores, on line only. Besides as many point out you can do better buying on line anyway. No I don't like it but if I want a title the best luck I've had is on line.

I still like going in a B&M and taking my title home at that time, maybe after the war that option will return again? And we will see the first week of release prices DVD still enjoy at many B&M places today.

Have a great day, watch a HD movie of your choice tonight.......

BTW; It's kind of neat to see anyone else looking at either HD format in a store, interesting chats no matter what format, good for everyone IMHO.

It matters to me because having the films available for people to see is one of the ways of supporting the format & expanding interest to others.

Actually, Casino has been online only since it came out. It was always deleted from our system. IT SUCKS!! Same goes for The Game, King Arthur (BR), and half the other HD-DVDs and recent BR movies.
