I need a cheap solution to my HTPC/server's problem of having no SATA interface.

I'm seeing some controller cards in other threads but they're all well over $100. At that point, its getting close to not being worth keeping my current system.

Does anyone know of any cheap SATA controller cards that will allow my old P4 system to add SATA ports?

Thanks!

Yes! That seems like a good deal.

Thank you! Reviews aren't bad either.

Just be careful you don't get a card that only supports Sata if you require Sata II. I recently had to jumper the back of a hard drive in order to force it to use Sata150 compatibility because the drive was a SataII and would not communicate with the 150 Controller. Drive speed wasn't affected in this case cause the 1T drive isn't that fast to begin with, but it did add extra time to get the drive to detect trying to figure out what was wrong.

I use that card myself, and it works fine with both speeds. You do have to flash the firmware to the latest version for it to recognize anything over 750GB, but once that's done you're good to go.
