My brother is getting his HDTV now but doesn't want to spend more than $1500.

Does anyone know of any good deal right now for that budget range?

Personally I have the Mits 46".. but he doesn't want to spend that much.

Beginning April 1, RCA is suppose to be lowering there retail prices of

their HDTV's and Hi Res monitors. The MM36110 will be $1600 and the MM32110 will be at $1300.

Here are to RCA models that are in the price range that might interest your brother. However they are advertised as High Resolution Monitors and they are in the 4x3 aspect ratio.

I have the MM36110 and the HDTV picture is simply stunning.

Both Sony and Panasonic also have 32 inch models that sale for about $1700. I'm not sure of the model numbers for these.

Keep in mind that your brother will still need to purchase a HDTV

STB to receive the signal. The RCA DTC-100 STB sales for about $549.

I think we want only 16x9 models.
Don't think you can buy any new 16:9 set for $1,500 right now. The TW40X81 or 40H80 can be had for a little under $2,000. Panasonic is releasing a 47" 16:9 set for $2,000 list price, so the sale price may be close to $1,500. Don't know when it's coming out though.

You want the 40H80, the TW40X81 is last year's model.

The 40" Toshiba is probably your best bet for a good quality 16:9 HDTV for a low price. Look around the net for a good price but I doubt you'll find it for $1500. It is available for less than $2000 though.

You can get an excellent used front projector for $1500 that

will give you a much better and lager picture than anything

you would pay $3000 for in a rear projection TV. E-mail Curt

Palme [email protected] he's a very well respected member

of this forum and has lots of great projectors in that price

range to chose from.
