Best device to play HDR/Dolby Vision Remux rips
I'm upgrading to 4K and I need a player that plays MKV and MP4 Remux HDR/DV Rips.
I understand the Opposite 203 does that but I will have to sell my left kidney to be able to afford that on top of everything I'm paying for the TV, as you all know costs add up (TV bracket, the wife wants a new lick of paint for the room, a new TV stand, etc)

The Apple TV 4K will play single layer DV mp4 files in the Infuse app (and I think MrMC too). HD audio is not fully supported in the mp4 container though. Plus the Apple TV 4K is also unable to bitstream HD audio.

Yeah, if Dolby Vision streaming of your physical files is your top priority you better list your kidney on eBay. AFAIK Oppo is the only one capable of that. Lots of choices if HDR10 was okay.

Lots of choices then. It really depends on your streaming platform but I use Infuse on the ATV4K and the Plex player, MrMC or Kodi on Android TV.So what would be recommended if I only wanted to play back HDR10 mkv remuxs off of a USB?
