OK. So industry has FINALLY figured out we want to stream multimedia!

Which device should I pick to stream my lossless CD rips and Blu-Ray/DVD movies:

1) Xbox ONE: that's what MS designed it for. No?

2) PS4: Winning on game sales, but DLNA?

3) Oppo BDP-103D: Best in Blu-Ray, but streaming?

4) Panasonic VT50 Smart Viera TV

Opinions?

1) Hell no, MS didn't design it for that at all, terrible device for media streaming (it's really only meant for MS sanctioned internet media).

2) Sony left out DLNA but have said they might get around to adding to the PS4 but ultimately thats a no go as well.

3) Maybe depends on codec support.

4) LoL, no.

All BD players also have Cinavia DRM on them which affects some BD movies (google has lists) though there are some tools which can now fix that. If your are going to buy a BD player then buy a Samsung or LG one, they have the most codec support though it might not cover lossless CD rips, depends of format you ripped to like flac or alac.

Your other options are buy a player like a WDTV Live (DLNA is under media servers) or use something like an Intel Nuc to run XBMC.
