I take it you weren't happy with any of the answers in the $3000-$4000 range. What is wrong with the Sharp 9000, which is the obvious answer for a DLP solution over $4K?

I asked this question in another thread, but this one seems more appropriate. What is the going "street price" of a Sharp 9000 nowadays? I'm not looking for specifics, just a ballpark figure.

There's the Optoma H55 to consider: 4X3 XGA, but it has 12 degree mirrors whereas the Sharp only has the 10 degree mirrors

Is it less expensive to purchase an imported Sharp than one here in the USA?

The Sharp is ~10k here in the US, but in order to get warranty work done on the imported one, you would need to ship to Japan. So it's a decision that must be weighed carefully.
