hi AVs friends,

I am just about setup on my new HTPC and am looking for advice on the best final approach for my setup.

I currently output to a VGA monitor but will be moving to a 1080 Panny plama for the display device.

My input media is a mix of mainly xvid, some DVDs, and high def TV. Also some netflix streaming movies.

Please see hardware below.

Questions

I see a lot of programs: FFDshow, Halli splitter, and CoreAVC, vista media pack talked about. What would be a good combination for my setup

to not overburden the CPU?

Is there a description somewhere of what all these programs do and

which are the possible combinations?

Is the video on the sticky for ffdshow about all that is needed

to setup ffdshow, it does look complicated.

Thanks for any advice!
