both have qualities that some people find they just can't live with (black levels, contrast on one, screendoor on one/ headaches, rainbows on the other, price -on the other)
Agreed. There are many great DLP projectors which deliver fantastic pictures. Unfortunately I've yet to see one that doesn't give me a headache. Do I vote LCD even though I don't believe they neccessarily produce as nice a picture as DLP's do?
Joe, I know you are new so you may not realize it, but that question is a can of worms. It's a bit like asking which religion you should be. You're liable to evoke all kinds of strong responses, but you'll really have to judge for yourself which you like better.
I'm unfortunately sensitive to the DLP side effects thusly I own an LCD even though I love the picture that DLP produces. If I wanted rainbows and headaches I'd take up a good hard drug habit. It'd be cheaper.
I currently own a LCD, but thinking FORWARD, when higher speed, higher res DLP machine becomes more affordable, DLP will certainly have the edge. By that time, there will also be other emerging technologies. The cycle never ends.
