I'd choose Dead Space or maybe Portal.

I was ultimately left a bit wanting of the other releases of the year I played. GTA4 is very good, but I can't help but have the feeling of "more of the same"... just like the COD series. Loved 1 and 2 but after a while it's like come on!

Dead Space?!?! OH MAN I thought that was a terrible game. I think I could be happy with Fallout3 though. L4D is also excellent but I'm not sure if I'd call it game of the year.

Fallout 3

1st game ended too soon (I was having fun) so 2nd game just went wandering the Wasteland and I don't think I'll ever see everything on the map!

...."me and Bob.." Ahhh hahahahahahha!!!

New DLC supposed to raise Levels from 20 to 30.

Did you play Dead Space with a mouse? That might have been the problem then.

Fallout 3 I have not played but I'm under the impression it is a role playing game which I don't want any part of.

For me, my favorite of 2008 was also my favorite of 2007: Team Fortress 2.

I went whole hog and initially tried xbox 360 controller. Didn't like it so I tried a mouse....Liked it much less! It was disappointing.

I need to start playing that again.

Game of the Year on PC (and maybe across all platforms) is Fallout 3.

Ditto...I've had more fun (and more playtime) with TF2 than every other game combined.
