Hi,

I have searched through the forums, trying to find the best solution for my situation.

I receive an HD signal via my cable set to box Motorola 6200. What would be the best overall video recorder for my situation? I am interested in both NTSC recording and HD recording, preferably in an all-in-one unit.

At this moment in time, my only real option seems to be the RCA DVR10, but this seems to be limited by its HDD size and scheduling capablities. Is this correct or am I missing anything?

It seems like there are a few products possibly coming down the line and maybe I should wait. A unit with integrated DVD burner would be ideal, but possibly I am now asking too much?

Thanks for any input.

The RCA DVR10 is not a standalone device. It requires a Firewire controller like a Mitsubishi or RCA television. Moreover, the DVR10 and other current third-party HD DVRs will not record encrypted HD channels (basically, everything aside from locals on many cable systems).

For the near future, your only option for DVR on all channels is the box supplied by the cable company (ex: Motorola 6208). When the first cableCARD HD DVRs become available this fall, you'll have more options.
