I know this is off topic, but I am thinking of building my own house (Plan, not construction). I know a lot of you are professionals, and I have seen past references to such software in this forum. If I buy a home designer software, what are some of the best ones out there. And what makes them that good. Eventually I am planning to get the plans looked at by a professional, but I want to do as much as possible myself. If you know of a any web sites or good forums on the subject I would also appreciate links to them.

Thanks

Anthony

I've put my house plans (created by someone else)

inyto Visio 2000 using the office space planning template. It's got walls, windows, doors, etc. I did it mainly so I could also do my wiring plans

on it.

I don't know how it would do as a complete "blueprint" software though.

8_ball: I use Visio at work. I find it a good product for network drawings and office room layout (I use it to plan our videoconference rooms), but I am looking for something that can do 3D imaging of a flour plan, and that is smart enough to correct some mistakes I might have.
