Hey, I know this is a very complicated question for several reasons, but I just can't decide on a HTIB. I don't want to have to deal with buying different speakers and stuff, but I will if that is the best thing to do for the price. I just need a good sounding HTIB that cost under $500, and preferably has a dvd player, though I could buy one separately if needed. What would yall suggest?

Onkyo 770/80 and separate DVD or if you can find one a 777 w/DVD

Yamaha 755 w/DVD or 450 w/o DVD.

Might find a sub/sat/receiver deal for ~$500, maybe Rocket Tykes, B stock special.

As long as the warranty is good, why not? Check J&R and OneCall too. It may come down to shipping?

There is a special on Rocket Tykes with a Pioneer receiver and DVD player for $499. I just ordered it myself and wonder what you guys think of it.

Low end polk/onkyo separates package can be had right now for close to that:

4 Polk r15s, 60/pair at outpost

1 polk cs1 center, 139 ebay

1 polk psw10 sub, 129 ubid (or grab a dayton sub for 99, many like it better)

1 onkyo tx-sr502 receiver, 119 ubid

Have to add shipping to some of these but match well and sound nice. I have a similar package but with r50s for mains and the 602 receiver. Much fuller sound than most htibs.
