Hi I am looking at getting a 40" LCD. I have a max budget 1000$.

The two TVs I am seriously considering are:

- Samsung LN40A500

- Toshiba 40RV525U.


I can price match the Toshiba and get it for 5$ less than the Samsung so the pricing difference is not a factor.


My main concern is the picture quality and reliability of the TV. The other TVs I am considering are:

- Sony KDL40S4100

- Samsung LN40A550


Any advice is greatly appreciated.

All of those are nice sets. Not sure you could go wrong with any of those.


Although I own a Samsung, I think you would get a little more bang for your buck with a Toshiba.
