Hi, i've bought a Lg pa4500 and i need help to get the best settings. I'm not an expert in tv, so if anyone has this plasma(or is an expert) and can help me to calibrate it or tell me which is his calibration, i would appreciate. If anyone has lg PM4700 i think the calibration could be good too for my plasma.

I used some settings i found from the 50/60PA6500 thread and with the help of AVIA i came up with these simple settings :

Aspect Ratio: 16:9

Energy Saving: Off

Picture Mode: Expert 1

Contrast: 87

Brightness:49

H. Sharp: 10

V. Sharp: 10

Color: 42

Tint: 0


Expert control


Dynamic Contrast: Off

Noise Reduction: Off

Gamma: Medium

Black Level: Low

Color Gamut: Wide

Edge Enhancement: Off

Color Temp: Medium

Method: 2 Point

Pattern: Outer

Points: High

Red: 14

Green: -12

Blue: -10

I bought one Monday , I have found good results for OTA and HDMI with Roku using the following settings .

Contrast 80

Brightness 55

H sharpness 8

V sharpness 10

Color 40

Tint 0

Expert control

Color temp Medium

Method 2 points

Points low

Red -11

Green-14

Blue -12

Luminance 15


Roku

Contrast 78

Brightness 65

H sharpness 15

V sharpness 10

Color 40

Tint

The same changes in Expert control as the TV .

Also I leave the Energy saving off

the other Expert settings I left stock .

I found these settings more to my taste than the ones listed on this Forum .

Yes there is Wizard ll , I found it pushed red . I corected it with Expert settings .

I used the Wizard as a base line .

The 2 point and 20 point settings did improve my gray scale .For the 2 pt low red I used 4 , 40 was way off .

But I like gamma at medium and color temp at medium .

I have also lowered contrast to 83 .

And with this grayscale I have a lower color settings 38 to 40 instead of the 50 posted .

I am using this with OTA broadcast .

My 42pa 4500 looks really good with basically everything Except real bright screens.It looks washed out brightwhtes.Even turning down the contrast doesn't get rid of it. can't figure out how to get rid of it so I'm returning it.If it wasn't for that this tv would be steal at $400.

Well guys after not liking the settings from cnet (the grayscale was a mess), i ended up to these settings.

Contrast: 88

Brightness:54

Sharpness:8

Color: 46

Tint: 0

colour temperature : w18

Dynamic Contrast: Off

Noise Reduction: Off

Gamma: High

Black level: Low

Film Mode: Off [grayed out]

Color Gamut: Standard

Edge Enhancer: Off


Still the whites are on the blue side, but it gives an appropriate grayscale.
