I know there's review threads waterfall and lfe threads. But is there a thread in here that to some is much more impressive than a massive speaker with lfe? And that would be the rear surrounds

I love the lfe. But to me it needs to be accompanied by the rest of the speakers. And with HD audio I can't tell you how cool it is to me and others to hear those rear channels kick in when bullets go by or a helicopter seems like it's literally behind you.

So what movies really have a good surround track on them. Something that makes me KNOW all the time I actually have speakers behind me

Ironman BD has a great audio track.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) The scene where he first attacks the middle east base is very good.

Can't say I know what you're talking about but Black Hawk Down has an incredible surround track. In fact, I had no interest in surrounds until I heard the Black Hawk Down Blu-Ray on a full Aerial setup.

I enjoy the entire surround system during the Podrace in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, (where the Boonta Eve Classic sponsored by Jabba the Hutt is entered by Anakin Skywalker, Sebulba and others). Also serves as a short display when your friends want to "hear" your system.

One of the best movies of all time...Das Boot!

Depth charges are UNREAL (read, too real) and was lucky I wasn't injured when the sub started crunching and a bolt shot past my head.

Yea I need to get u571 Im just waiting for it to drop in price at walmart. Every 2 weeks they put about 5 older releases on the $10 shelf. ( just got the condemned, van wilder, and the devils rejects all for $10 each last week )

I see alot of people requesting 3:10 to Yuma. Might have to try that too as well as war of the worlds. Is that even out yet? And is it the new one with Tom cruise or whoever. Or the original?

Also as far as the transformers goes. Great movie with great lfe. But as far as he surrounds go. Not really that impressive to me. Not even close really compared to bee movie, Kung Fu panda, ironman, hulk, forbidden kingdom , bolteagle eye or casino royale IMO.

Generally speaking, I have felt that movies being released since Casino Royale or roughly this point have started to increase surround effect, LFE effects and panning from left to right or right to left (front array) in general. This is good.

There are many movies which have very good surround effects. They've already been mentioned in this thread. This Summer's flicks should have very good surround effects as well.

Very true about the newer movies becoming better in general with sound. Actually to me. Ever since I got my 5.1 setup with a receiver that decodes HD I am actually more impressed with the blu sound compared to the picture. The sound alone with a nice setup is a must for br owners, cuz I didn't know what I Was missing watching blu rays without a 5.1. Worth every penny

As for the new br coming out soon I hear disneys UP has an unbelievable pq and lfe , as well as one of the most reference surround tracks to date

House of flying daggers. The scene with the rock bouncing on drums around you is surreal.
