I agree!
I have had nothing but good experiences with AVS. Alan in particular was very responsive in helping me deal with upgrades of the Crystal Image scaler I purchased from AVS. While I don't always buy from them, I make it a habbit to look first to see if they are offereing what I am interested in purchasing. Also, I NEVER mention or quote prices from other AV dealers here in the forum. To me that is kind of like going to a party at someone's house and telling the other guests that there is a better party down the street and they should go there.

I respect the patience the forum owners showed during the whole Dell feeding frenzy. I thought the whole thing could have been handled with a little more restraint. I remember when similar deals popped up last year for the DL450, which I eventually bought, and I thought in that case the whole thing was largely handled through e-mails between interested parties with an absolute minimum of clogging the forum with posts about other vendors. I know this view will be somewhat unpopular, but I hope it will cause some people to behave with a little more respect for out hosts next time something like this comes along.
This forum is by far the best resource for information about front projection hometheater for the hands-on DIY type of enthusiast. While most forums are bogged down in endless and tiresome fights about DTS vs. Dolby Digital and how much better keep cases are than snappers, AVS provides valuable and practical knowledge from enthusiastic home theater hobbyists who also happen to often be technically sophisticated professionals.
I for one try to always remember who is providing this unique meeting place. I am not advocating that this become the AVS cheerleader forum, but I do think it is just bad form to push the services of other AV dealers using the forum provided by our hosts.
