Best place to locate my speakers?

This is the proposed floor plan we have for our home reno (we've since updated it a bit, with the bathroom on the opposite side, but for all intents and purposes, this is it). I've been wondering the best way to position the speakers when the time comes.

The size of the space overall is about 45x20. We're going to have a TV and audio system, placed where it says "firebox and TV above".

The audio system is primarily going to be used for music more than HT. I'm thinking something like 80% music, 20% HT (aside from the always on Food network or somesuch).

Where do you think is the best place to place my speakers? I was thinking like this:

This way the speakers can face towards majority of the people for gatherings. But another option is this:

Which I suppose would be optimized for being seated around the TV.

My current gear is:

Usher X-718 speakers

Rel T-9 sub

Cambridge Audio Azur 840a

Sonos Connect

In-ceiling speakers for the kitchen area in the back, tied to a Sonos Connect:Amp

I'd like to be able to play enhanced sound through the TV, but it doesn't have to be the X-718. I'm thinking about using a Sonos Playbar for the sake of convenience and making the two speakers audio-only, but I'm also not married to the idea.

Any thoughts?
